Read the reviewHow we work
Four steps, in this order, on every casino and every guide.
Read the operator's own terms
We use the British document, because the international one is a separate contract run by a separate company. The first check is that the terms name a Gambling Commission account number at all.
Verify the licence on the register
Every account is checked against the Commission's public register, which publishes the licensed company, its status and the domains it may run.
Score the cashier and the small print
Payment limits, wagering and its base, maximum cash out, dormancy fees, funds protection, dispute windows and which body hears a complaint.
Publish the source and date the page
Every figure links to where it came from, every page carries the date it was last read, and every page carries an address for corrections.
What changed for British players in 2026
Two rule changes reshaped this market inside eight months, and most casino content on the internet predates both of them.
19 January: wagering capped at 10x
British licensed casinos cannot include wagering requirements above ten times the bonus amount. Offers of 35x and 50x, which dominated this market, are no longer valid. It is also now forbidden to mix products in a single offer (e.g. "bet on football, get casino spins"). Six of the ten offers on this site are now entirely without wagering requirements. This rule did not concern game weighting, and so 10x on a game contributing 10% is effectively a 100x requirement.
1 April: casino tax nearly doubled
Remote Gaming Duty rose from 21% to 40%, and the Treasury targeted online casino specifically. Free spins are captured by the duty because the nominal stake of a first free play is a stake, and this is the true driver behind more campaigns with less value. Like everything else mentioned so far, your winnings remain untaxed, as HMRC has considered betting and gambling outside trading for over 100 years.
The product rules you already play under
Spins on slots are capped at £5 for players over 25 and £2 for players between 18 and 24, based on regulations in February 2025. Autoplay and similar functions are banned, a spin can resolve in no less than 2.5 seconds, a spin resulting in a payment less than the stake is not considered to be a win, and reverse withdrawal is banned.
Affordability checks are coming in stages
The Commission has approved the first stage of phasing in the Financial Health Check in July 2026. This stage will apply where the cumulative net deposit in the last 24 hours is over £5,000 (£2,500 for customers under 25 years). This is expected to apply to less than 3% of accounts. This should not be confused with the light-touch vulnerability check, which has been in force since February 2025 at a net deposit of £150 in the previous 30 days and only accesses public records.
What we promise, and what we will not do
Most of what makes casino content untrustworthy is invented. These are the four things we will not do.
Only licensed operators, named in full
Every casino here hosts an active Gambling Commission Remote Casino Licence. We publish the licensed company and account number so you can check it in seconds, and we publish nothing that is not on the register.
No invented testing
We do not claim to have opened accounts, deposited money or timed withdrawals. Everything is sourced from published terms, help centres, promotion pages, the regulator and legislation.
Every bonus shows its significant terms
The wagering multiple, what it is calculated on, the maximum cash out and the expiry, sit alongside the headline as, on its own, a spin count is meaningless.
Dated, sourced and correctable
Terms can change without notice. Each page states when it was read last and links to the source it came from, and when something is found to be incorrect, it is corrected and the reason for the change is stated.
If something has already gone wrong
Discerns at a licensed casino operate under 4 distinct sets of rules. Figuring out which one you are in usually constitutes half the argument.
A payout is being held
Identity or Source of funds is usually the issue. There are limits to the questions that can be asked at the withdrawal stage.
Verification rulesA bonus was voided
Ask which clause and which pattern of play. There is a standard for the answer you are owed.
Bonus abuse rulesNothing above fits
Each licensee must offer free alternative dispute resolution after 8 weeks or a deadlock.

Who writes this
Callum Whitfield, Editor
I'm the sole author of every page. The work is document work: reading British terms and conditions of an operator in tandem with Licence Conditions and Codes of Practice and remote technical standards, and where it matters, the legislation itself, and then writing down what they actually say. Where a figure couldn't be found, the page says so instead of guessing.
I am happy to receive suggestions and changes at callum@megareelslot.com, and they get made quickly. You can also read more about this site and the scoring methodology.
Gambling should stay something you enjoy
If it is no longer that, help is free and confidential. The National Gambling Helpline is 0808 8020 133 and is open 24 hours. GamCare and BeGambleAware provide support without judgement.
Each casino must offer deposit, loss and time limits, which can all be self-imposed and blocked through GAMSTOP. This is explained on our safer gambling tools page.
18+. Gambling can be addictive, please play responsibly. Some links on this site are affiliate links and we may earn a commission if you sign up through one, which never changes a score, a ranking or what a page says; the full position is in our methodology.
Operator information is taken from each casino's own published British terms, help centres and promotion pages. Regulatory material comes from the Gambling Commission, legislation.gov.uk, HM Revenue and Customs and the Competition and Markets Authority. Terms change without notice, so read them on the operator's own site before depositing.
