Every UK casino that takes Apple Pay
Apple Pay covers the debit card at all ten of these sites. There’s no other competing wallet and a good reason lies in the last column.

Seven of ten publish an Apple Pay wallet limit prior to account creation. Betway, Betfred and MrQ do not disclose any of these, and they do the same for the debit card limit.
Getting money in is easy, getting it out is not
The process of depositing via Apple Pay is the same across all ten sites. Where things differ is the withdraw process and the respective casinos published their policies.
- Refused outright at one. All British Casino states you cannot withdraw via Apple Pay or Google Pay, and that winnings must leave by debit card instead.
- Graded "Limited" at one. PlayOJO puts that word in its own comparison table while PayPal, Visa, Mastercard and Trustly each get a plain yes.
- Conditional at one. bet365 says an Apple Pay payout falls back to bank transfer if the issuing card cannot receive one directly.
- Silent at one. Betfred publishes nothing about Apple Pay withdrawals in either direction.
- Confirmed at six. William Hill, Midnite, Betway, BetVictor, Grosvenor and MrQ all state Apple Pay works both ways, and four of them publish a timescale.
The best way to ensure you can receive your winnings is to review the withdrawal policies prior to making your deposit. An Apple Wallet that can't receive money is not a payment method at all, but rather the pressing of a button in their request to play. The casino controls everything that happens afterwards.

bet365
UKGC account 55149 · Hillside (UK Gaming) ENCApple Pay's row on bet365's public GB deposit table is £5 to £20,000, instant, the same as using a debit card. The name corresponding to your bet365 account has to match. The problem is the return leg: when bet365 processes withdrawals, they do so to the payment method used to deposit, when possible. However, they explain that an Apple Pay payout would result in a bank transfer if the issuing card does not accept a direct payout. Funds can go in as a wallet payment and come back as a bank payment.

William Hill
UKGC account 39225 · WHG (International) LimitedThe best Apple Pay option on this page. Deposits £5 to £99,000; withdrawals process at the same tiered limits of a regular debit card, up to £40,000 on Maestro. What is new is the time frame. William Hill cites Apple Pay withdrawals as instant, as opposed to the same card used directly which takes 4 hours via Visa Direct and takes 1 to 3 working days. It has jurisdiction over the UK and Austria, and also states that funding an Apple Pay deposit with a credit card is not allowed in the UK. One thing to be aware of with offers: the casino welcome bonus has no method restrictions, while William Hill's sports offer cites Apple Pay as one of nine excluded deposit methods.

All British Casino
UKGC account 38758 · L&L Europe LimitedThis casino fully switches off Apple Pay while you exit. As put clearly on the payments page, you cannot cash out through Apple Pay or Google Pay, and everything that you win has to leave through a debit card. This is a genuine functional limit, meaning that a wallet deposit at All British always results in a card withdrawal that you were not expecting to make. General limits are £10 to £5,000, and the same page states that credit cards are prohibited for online casino transactions in the UK.

PlayOJO
UKGC account 39326 · Skill on Net LtdThis is one of the two casinos on this page which provides a table of its own withdrawal methods. The other does not differentiate Apple Pay withdrawals, but this one labels Apple Pay withdrawals as “Limited” instead of a definite “Yes” or “No”. PayPal, Visa, Mastercard and Trustly, on the other hand, receive a definite “Yes” in that same table, so the distinction is deliberate. Transactions are instant, and there is no cost; the minimum amount that can be deposited is £10. Apple Pay receives an explanation, along with PayPal, Visa and Mastercard, on their own designated page. Regardless, that policy makes it so that whatever you win does not need to be wagered first, and it resides in OJO's rewards policy.

Midnite
UKGC account 42647 · Dribble Media LimitedAs for restrictions, Midnite’s methods all take the same £5 to £5,000 limits in both directions, leaving speed as the only factor for them to differentiate themselves. In that case, Apple Pay is the clear winner. Card withdrawals have been quoted as taking up to 5 business days, and Apple Pay is also quoted as taking up to 72 hours, the same time as Google Pay and Trustly. One thing to keep in mind: Midnite only runs one payment method at a time, and switching requires a balance under £3, no open bets, no unfinished rounds.

Betway
UKGC account 39372 · Betway LimitedBetway defines Apple Pay as a digital wallet for both deposits and withdrawals, the simplest two-way statement among the ten. But the fine print is in the promotions. For the GB welcome offers, all debit card deposits are the only valid deposits (for the 150 wager-free spins), so by charging Apple Pay, they also lose the offer. Betway also gives no estimates for either deposits or withdrawals, leaving the wallet’s limits the same as everything else in its cashier.

BetVictor
UKGC account 39576 · BV Gaming LimitedBetVictor’s entire UK deposit section is three rows with options of debit card, Apple Pay, and Google Pay, all having £5 to £1,000 limits for each. For withdrawals, also having £5 to £30,000 limits in 24 hours, the same as the debit card, Apple Pay is also not better or worse. It is simply another option in the cashier. It is also worth knowing the number limits: the £1,000 deposit limit is the lowest on this page by 5 times, whereas the £30,000 withdrawal limit is among the highest.

Betfred
UKGC account 39544 · Petfre (Gibraltar) LimitedBetfred says it best: “We now accept debit card payments through Apple Pay.” By “wallet,” which is how Apple Pay refers to paymentcards, Betfred means paymentcard. The phrasing is important because Betfred's welcome offer requires a debit card deposit and excludes prepaid cards and e-wallets, and the terms are silent on where an Apple Pay deposit falls relative to that line. Handled with an Apple Pay payment? Betfred discloses no minimum, and instead says you need to ‘check the cashier,’ to see what the minimum is.

Grosvenor Casinos
UKGC account 57924 · Rank Interactive (Gibraltar) LimitedApple Pay at Grosvenor is listed as both a deposit and withdrawal option with a minimum deposit of £5. It is the only line on the table where a withdrawal minimum is omitted, and every other line states a withdrawal minimum. The same rule on Apple Pay and on Visa and Mastercard is reproduced in the table: Grosvenor does not accept credit cards or cards issued by American Express. Per the Fast Withdrawals rule, for payment to be processed via Apple Pay, your bank needs to be enabled; in the absence of that, payment will take 1 to 3 working days.

MrQ
UKGC account 60629 · Tek Fox LimitedAt the head of the five-method closed list published by MrQ is Apple Pay, over Visa Debit and Mastercard Debit. The article finishes with the line that describes this list as real. MrQ states that methods not shown are not available on MrQ. Apple Pay withdrawals also come under the same guarantee as everything else, meaning they are processed in under 60 seconds or MrQ cash credits you £10. Apple Pay also supports withdrawals, meaning it closes the loophole that this page is concerned with. Apple Pay also does not support deposits that have their source as a credit card, even if they come from a wallet.

What Apple Pay actually is
Apple Pay is not a payment account. This means there is no balance and no movement of funds to Apple. Apple Pay is a card in wallet over a debit card you hold. Knowing this logic solves a lot of the issues described in this page.
When you add a card to Wallet, your bank makes a Device Account Number for that device. Apple's security overview states that this number is stored in the Secure Element on your device and is never stored on Apple's servers and is never backed up to iCloud. Apple only stores a small portion of your real card number, a small portion of the Device Account Number, and a card description.
When you pay a casino, the same document is frank about what leaves your device: “Neither Apple nor your device sends your actual payment card number to the app.” The casino receives the Device Account Number and a dynamic security code generated for that one transaction. Apple also mandates that all websites verify their domain every time they offer Apple Pay as an option.
Apple retains some data points about the transaction, including the approximate amount, the app name, the approximate date and time the transaction occurred, and whether the payment was successful. Apple states that it does not retain transaction data that is associated with a specific customer.
The net effect of this type of casino deposit is that the operator never possesses the card number, so it is not stored on their systems in the event of a breach. Each transaction requires Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode, which a stored card in the cashier’s app does not.
Why Apple Pay is at ten casinos when PayPal is at seven
This is the structural difference, and it is not about popularity.
PayPal is a payment account in its own right, and its Acceptable Use Policy for the UK puts gambling in the pre-approval category. An operator must be approved by PayPal before the gambling option can be activated, which explains why PayPal is offered by the older, larger brands, and why 3 of the 10 do not offer it.
Apple Pay has no such gate at the casino end. Apple Pay rides the Visa or Mastercard debit rails casinos accept, so if the cashier takes your card they can take the same card through Wallet. That is why coverage is 100%, and it is also why withdrawal support is so inconsistent. Paying money back to a tokenised card is a separate task, and each casino has done it, half-done it, or ignored it. For withdrawal support, it is up to the individual casino and how they have implemented it.
Google does it the other way. Google Pay's Acceptable Use Policy states that the Google Pay API can only be used for gambling in certain restricted geographies and limited integration types, which is why Google Pay supports only four casinos. Apple Pay supports 10. The two methods with a gatekeeper have the shortest lists: see the PayPal casinos guide (7 of 10) and the Google Pay casinos guide (4 of 10).
The two casinos where the wallet beats the card
Since Apple Pay is the same card underneath, you would expect equal payout speeds. At eight of the ten that is what you get. At two, the wallet is faster.
William Hill states that Apple Pay withdrawals are instant. Using the card directly is about 4 hours if the casino supports Visa Direct, and 1 to 3 working days if they do not. Same money, same card, and the wallet route skips the wait entirely.
Midnite shows a smaller version of the same thing. Their published table states card withdrawals taking up to 5 business days and Apple Pay taking up to 72 hours, with Google Pay and Trustly shown on the same line.
The mechanism is the payout rail. A tokenised wallet payout can be sent directly to the Device Account Number, while a plain card refund often moves back through the card scheme at the scheme's speed. Where a casino has built the faster rail, using Wallet gets you on it.
| Casino | Debit card payout | Apple Pay payout |
|---|---|---|
| William Hill | 4 hours to 3 working days | Immediate |
| Midnite | Up to 5 business days | Up to 72 hours |
| BetVictor | Up to 24 hours | Up to 24 hours |
| Grosvenor Casinos | 15 minutes, or 1 to 3 days | 15 minutes, or 1 to 3 days |
| MrQ | 60 seconds, or £10 paid | 60 seconds, or £10 paid |
A credit card in your Wallet will not get through
The ban on credit card gambling in Great Britain came into effect on 14 April 2020. This ban follows the money in the wallet.
Three of the ten state this on the wallet itself. William Hill states that credit card and money-service funding source deposits via Apple Pay are not allowed in the UK. Grosvenor repeats their refusal of credit cards and American Express on the Apple Pay segment and on Visa and Mastercard. MrQ goes the furthest by stating that all transactions made through a credit card and received through a wallet are not acceptable.
Betfred makes the same point by description, calling Apple Pay a method for “debit card payments”. It is also the only casino here that states the regions on credit cards that are still in effect: Gibraltar, the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands, none of which is part of Great Britain.
If the primary card on Wallet is a credit card, the deposit will be declined at the cashier without an explanation. In that case, Wallet debit card should be used to facilitate payments, not after the payment fails.
What Apple Pay costs at a casino
With Apple Pay, no fees are charged by Apple and no fees are charged by the ten casinos for Apple Pay deposits.
The only casino side charge in this comparison is charged by Betway, but it only applies to withdrawals below the £5 threshold. They charge £1.
This brings us to your bank. The wallet does not change the card before a transaction is charged. So whatever your issuer does with gambling transactions on that card, it is the same with Apple Pay. bet365 is the only casino that mentions this, and advises that some card issuers consider betting transactions as cash advances and a cash advance fee may be charged.
Apple Pay against the other three
The following methods should be considered when deciding how to fund a UK casino account.
| Apple Pay | Debit card | Open banking | PayPal | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Casinos offering it | 10 of 10 | 10 of 10 | 8 of 10 | 7 of 10 |
| Typical minimum | £5 | £5 | £5 | £10, or £25 at bet365 |
| Card number reaches the casino | No | Yes | No | No |
| Withdrawals restricted somewhere | At 3 of 10 | None found | None found | None found |
| Voids a welcome offer | At Betway, and William Hill sports | Never | At 2 casinos | At 2 casinos |
| Highest published ceiling | £99,000 | £99,000 | £99,000 | £5,500 |
Apple Pay has reach (universal acceptance), privacy (no card number) and biometric control (on every payment). It also offers the ability to confirm payments via Touch ID. The only drawback is that, unlike the other three payment options, Apple Pay can’t guarantee getting their money back to you (reliability). The debit card has the added advantage of cash back and doesn’t have withdrawal limits, and Open Banking keeps your debit card out of it.
The sequence to avoid every trap on this page is to make your first qualifying deposit with cash, then use Apple Pay for everything at a casino whose withdrawal column has a checkmark.
Frequently asked questions
We track the ten casinos: bet365, William Hill, All British Casino, PlayOJO, Midnite, Betway, BetVictor, Betfred, Grosvenor Casinos and MrQ. All ten have Apple Pay. Unlike any other digital wallet, they all match the quality and convenience of a cash-in debit card.
It isn’t universal. Six of the ten casinos issue confirmation of Apple Pay withdrawals. All British Casino indicates that Apple Pay cannot be used to withdraw funds. PlayOJO places it in the “Limited” category in their own comparison. bet365 indicates that if Apple Pay cannot accept a payment, the transfer is then automated to a bank. And Betfred offers no information.
Not really. According to Apple, neither Apple nor the device transmits your actual payment card to the application/sites. What the casino receives is a Device Account Number, which is held in the secure element on your phone, along with a security code that is generated for that transaction.
At (most) two of the ten, yes. William Hill estimates Apple Pay transactions as instant compared to 4 hours to 3 working days for the same card used directly. Midnite estimates Apple Pay as 72 hours vs 5 business days for the same card. Everywhere else the two match.
No. The Gambling Commission's credit card ban has been in effect since 14 April 2020 and extends to wallets. William Hill states that customers cannot make credit card Apple Pay deposits in the UK. Grosvenor states credit card and American Express Apple Pay deposits are not accepted. MrQ accepts no credit card deposits. Change your Wallet default before you pay.
Apple charges no fees. Apple states that it levies no fees when you use Apple Pay to purchase goods and services in stores, on the internet, or in applications. None of the ten casinos charge to take Apple Pay deposits. The only casino side charge that we found here is a £1 charge by Betway when it pays out a balance under £5.
