01My verdict
Betfred has stretched its business to areas beyond traditional brick-and-mortar locations. Its online site contains numerous offerings, which provide access to a Tote and even a lotto. Customer support will investigate any requests to deposit or withdraw funds if it takes more than 12 hours. Other online competitors have less convenient policies.
The fairness section of the website is the second most detailed that I have seen, behind only BetVictor's, and I have set all ten side by side in are UK casinos fair. I compare the fairness sections on my page dealing directly with game malfunctions. Betfred states that if game malfunctions occur, the customer will be returned the amount and notified once the malfunction is reversed. This is a specific commitment, which goes against what other websites state.
I would push back on the welcome offer. Free spins are listed as “up to 200”, but go ahead and do the math. Then you’ll see that all three offers will be worth around £10. Throw in a cashier who says “no minimums, no maximums and no timings,” and I would score this as a 4.0.

The offer of “up to 200 free spins” is very misleading. The terms state that each spin will be worth 5p. Betfred will scale the value of the offer down as they increase the number of spins, so these offers are all worth the same £10. There is no deception here, since the terms do state the per-spin values, but the headline number leads you to believe you are getting much more value than the math shows.
What you are actually choosing is how to they spread £10. You can have 50 large spins, or 200 small spins. If you like a shorter but more exciting session, take the first option. Betfred is one of the few casinos on my UK payments comparison that states clearly that they don't take any payments in either direction. This is one of the few casinos that won't disclose any of this before you have an account. They both belong in the same paragraph because they pull in opposite directions.

This credit card line is a great quote example for the UK ban. Betfred allows usage of credit cards for customers residing in Gibraltar, the Isle of Man, and the Channel Islands, but does not allow credit card usage for any other region of the British Isles. None of these regions are part of Great Britain, and this is the reason the exception exists.
Getting money back out
Funds will be returned to the card it was originally deposited with, if possible. It is also worth noting that multiple withdrawals made through the same method in a 24 hour period will result in a single withdrawal. A display lag in your account means the funds will appear to not have left your account. However, the payment will have already been processed.

05Five clauses worth reading twice
The rules at Betfred are spread across several different pages making them slightly inconvenient to find. Click through each of these for an explanation of each.
There is also no wagering on Free Spin wins. That is an actual good surprise. The offer wording states that winnings from Free Spins are added to your cash balance, and that the spins are worthless and will never be shown as part of your balance.
