What you are agreeing to
Callum Whitfield writes all pages of MegaReelSlot, which is his publication. By using the site, you agree to the following terms. Refusing to accept these terms means you should not use this site.
There are no accounts to make nor anything to sign, thus, the acceptance of the terms is simply by using the site. Terms written in such a fashion are rarely read and hence this page is short, plain and in lower case letters. It explains why it is limiting something.
Nothing on this page alters the rights a consumer has as granted by the law. According to the Consumer Rights Act 2015, an unfair term is not binding on the consumer. This Act states that notices posted on websites are included in the terms. If any part of this page were to be regarded as unfair, that part would have to be ignored, and everything else on the page would be valid and effective.
This site is advertising, and it is regulated as advertising
MegaReelSlot uses affiliate links for gambling operators. Based on the UK advertising rules, this page is a form of marketing communication and therefore complies with CAP Code and the ASA.
There are two main rules for sites like mine. Rule 2.1 mandates that marketing messages should be identified. Rule 2.3 mandates that, where such a requirement is not dictated by context, marketers should unambiguously state their commercial intentions. For this reason, an affiliate disclosure appears on every page, and the funding structure has its own section on the About page and on the Methodology.
The ASA states that this obligation is shared. In its affiliate marketing context, the ASA states, “Both the business and the affiliate marketer are responsible under the Code, notwithstanding the fact that the ads may have been created solely by the affiliate without any input from the business themselves.” If a page on this site violates the advertising standards, it is this site’s concern, and it is the operator’s concern as well.
In a remit statement published on 10 June 2022, the ASA stated that it regulates commercial content in a marketer’s own online space where such content may reasonably be considered to be advertising. “The ASA considers that the ‘vast majority’ of ‘content marketing’ is advertising and, therefore, falls within the remit of the CAP Code.” A site of casino reviews and payment comparisons very much fits that description.
The second layer: the operator's licence
Social responsibility code provision 1.1.2 of the Gambling Commission’s licence conditions states that operators are liable for third parties they contract. Operators must ensure the third parties “conduct themselves in so far as they carry out activities on behalf of the licensee as if they were bound by the same licence conditions and subject to the same codes of practice as the licensee.”
The same provision states that operators require the right to end the agreement, “including for affiliates where they have breached a relevant advertising code of practice”.
This provision means that any affiliate that breaches the advertising rules affects the compliance of the licensed operator that it sends players to, and allows the licensed operator to end the agreement. This site assumes that those licence conditions apply to it.
Section 330 of the Gambling Act 2005 makes it an offence to advertise unlawful gambling, punishable on summary conviction by up to 51 weeks in prison in England and Wales, six months in Scotland, a fine, or both. This is the reasoning for the hard rule behind this site: every operator listed on this site holds a Gambling Commission operating licence, and the account number is displayed on the review page for each operator so that it can be confirmed on the public register.
What this site is not
MegaReelSlot is a guide. It does not operate games, does not hold funds, does not process accounts, and does not have access to anything contained within an operator’s systems. Of course, this means certain things that people tend to be surprised by.
- Your casino account. This site cannot open, close, verify, restrict or reopen it, and cannot see anything in it.
- Your money. It cannot credit a bonus, release a withdrawal, reverse a deposit or look at your transaction history.
- An operator's decision. It cannot tell you why a casino asked you for documents, and it cannot overturn what the casino decided.
- Legal, financial or tax advice. Where law is described on this site it is described in general terms. For your own situation you need a professional.
- Treatment or counselling. The responsible gambling page lists the organisations that provide it, all of them free and confidential.
This is NOT a prompt to gamble. Gambling is a decision the user makes and fully understands. MegaReelSlot will not hold any responsibility regarding any financial risk the user assumes while using the listed operator links.
Age, and people who have self-excluded
MegaReelSlot will only allow users who are at least 18 years of age to access the listed operator links. This is because the legal gambling age within the United Kingdom is 18, and all operators on the website must confirm each user is within this age limit when they first deposit and participate in real money play.
If you have utilised GAMSTOP or self-excluded from an operator, please do not use the links provided on this page until your self-exclusion period is complete. The purpose of a self-exclusion from gambling is to prevent you from participating in gambling, and this page, as you know, provides lists of gambling operators and bonus offers.
If this site puts stress on you, blocking software will be useful to you. This will block casino and gambling sites as well. You can visit the tools page to learn about blocking services and how much each service costs.
Accuracy, and whose terms actually count
Every value shown on this site denotes information given by operators in their terms and conditions, their banking or payment section, their promotions section and the Gambling Commission’s Public Register. Each page includes the date the value was last verified so you have an idea of how up to date the value is.
Operators can change values on their sites with no prior notice. Between the time a value was last verified and the time you view the page, a value for the minimum deposit, a value for the withdrawal time, a value for a wagering requirement or even a value for a payment method can change.
The value and conditions outlined by the operator will always take precedent and override all values on the site. If the value on the site does not align with what is valued on the site in front of you, then their value will take precedent and the site you're currently viewing will not take precedent and there is no claim against the site from the operator.
If you believe a value displayed on the site should be different, inform us. The correction policy in the methodology explains what happens next, and a figure confirmed as wrong is changed the same day.
Affiliate links, and how this site earns
The links to operators that are listed on this site have a redirect address of /go/ which will take you to that operators site. If you register then that operator may pay us a commission. This does not change the value and will not have any impact on the value you will receive.
What the commission doesn’t sell, however, is position. Scoring is done using a published formula, set out in full on the methodology page, and every input is a number that users can verify against the operator's terms. No operator has been given a higher ranking for a higher commission, and the formula doesn’t allow for this.
Those redirect addresses are not searchable and are not to be shared, linked to, or indexed. They exist so that each destination is stored in one file, meaning that a link must be changed in only one location.
Using anything from this site
The writing, scoring, design, and comparison tables are owned by MegaReelSlot. The logos and names of operators are owned by the operators.
Short excerpts paired with attribution links are permitted. Reprinting entire tables or pages, or bulk data exporting, is prohibited, as is the automated collection of data for the training of machine learning systems. These rights are reserved for this purpose.
Requests are generally granted within 24 hours.
Availability and liability
This site is as is, meaning it is a static site with no sign up and no charges, hosted online with a reasonable amount of care. No website can warrant uptime. Pages are added, rewritten, and even removed. Links to other sites break due to changes that other sites make.
None of this negates liability for negligence causing death or injury or for fraud and/or fraudulent misrepresentation. Section 65 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015 removes the right to exclude liability, and no provision of this site attempts that.
Apart from that, the decisions relating to gambling are your responsibility. This site cannot reimburse you if you have lost money at a casino, if an operator decides to close your account, or if you did not read the terms and conditions and a bonus was offered. Nothing on this site should be interpreted to mean that a particular outcome will be the case.
Outbound links go to other sites that may be operators, regulators, or support sites. What is contained on those sites and the policies and practices that they follow are their concern.
If your problem is with a casino
We are giving full instructions on this because some people do come looking for it and because the official route does work. You incur no cost for this and you do not need to retain a solicitor. Our page containing further information regarding casino complaints in the UK, contains full contact information for each casino's specified adjudicator along with their time constraints for accepting complaints.
Send your complaint to the operator, and do it the old fashioned way by mail. You have to use the company's internal complaint system before they will even consider your complaint. Be sure to date and keep your correspondence.
Be patient. It can take up to 8 weeks before the outcome of your complaint is resolved.
The ADR (Alternative Dispute Resolution) provider is your next best bet. All operators that hold a licence are required to use an ADR provider and must inform their players of the ADR provider. ADR is independent and free to use.
Await the decision. After the ADR provider receives the necessary information from the operator, they have 90 days to review and either accept the case or make a decision.
There are a few things you should know about ADR providers. First, they can only resolve disputes that relate to the result of a gambling transaction. That includes disputes about the management of a gambling account. There are exceptions to this, such as a request to withdraw funds from the account, as well as disputes about service and complaints that an operator refuses to take your bet.
The Gambling Commission is another example of something people expect too much from. It cannot resolve individual complaints or recover lost money. However, it can pursue complaints and subsequently review a licensed operator’s conduct even if it cannot pursue your complaint. The Commission publishes complaint data and, therefore, is interested in complaint information.
Prior to engaging in any of the other complaints procedures, check that the operator holds a Gambling Commission licence on the public register, as the complaints process and the free ADR are only available for licensed operators. An operator without a licence offers you no such remedy.
If your problem is with this site
Email your complaints to callum@megareelslot.com. This is probably the quickest route for this site to correct errors. Incorrect figures get changed and the date on the page gets updated with an indication of when the page was last changed.
For complaints relating to advertising content which you consider to be in breach of the Advertising Standards Authority’s rules, for example, you can complain to the ASA at asa.org.uk. You do not need to raise this through us, and you do not require permission to complain to the ASA.
For complaints relating to the processing of personal data, our privacy policy states the measures we have in place to protect your personal data, and for this you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes to these terms
The versions of the terms on this page are the latest versions. The date at the top shows when they were last published. You will have agreed to the published version if you continue to use the site after the changes.
If there is a material change to the terms, I will explain the reason here. There is no mailing list so the date is the best indicator to see if the changes were published.
Governing law
These terms and the disputes that may arise from them are subject to the laws of England and Wales and the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
This does not affect your right as a consumer to bring a case in the court that has jurisdiction where you live. It also does not affect the consumer protection that applies in your jurisdiction.
Frequently asked questions
Of course not. It is an independent review of UK licensed casinos. We do not run any games ourselves, we do not hold any cash and there are no direct links to your operator account. All information published is taken from the operator websites and the links to operators are affiliate links.
The Advertising Standards Authority. Because of affiliate links to gambling operators, the ASA has jurisdiction over this site and content under the CAP Code. Content complaints can be made directly to the ASA at asa.org.uk without submitting complaints here.
Not directly, because this site has no access to any operator's systems. Complain to the operator directly first. If it is still unresolved after eight weeks, take it to the operator's Alternative Dispute Resolution provider which is independent and free to you, and which has up to 90 days to adjudicate once it has the information it needs.
The terms of the casino apply. Operators can, and do, change their offers without notice so a figure here can be out of date between checking and reading. Please report any discrepancies and the page will be corrected.
A short quote requiring no attribution is fine. Lifting comparison tables, or scraping the site in bulk (eg for ML) is not permitted. Please ask before doing anything of substance.
